Round and bar TFT
Round and Bar TFT
Round and bar TFTs are non-rectangular color panels: circular displays for dials, gauges, instrument clusters, and wearables, and tall or wide “bar” (stretched-aspect) panels for instrument strips, appliance fascias, elevator and transit displays, and shelf-edge signage. They use the same active-matrix TFT technology and the same host-side interfaces as our rectangular panels — the difference is the outline of the glass and, on the round parts, a circular-address driver.

Round and bar TFT specifications
Standard ranges for the round and stretched-format families. For a specific diameter, aspect, or bar format, start a custom project.
- Round sizes: 1.3″ to 1.5″, 240×240 (AFR)
- Round panel: IPS, 450 cd/m², circular-address driver
- Round interfaces: MCU, SPI, RGB
- Special sizes: 2.36″ 480×234, 3.2″ 240×400, 4.3″ 480×800 IPS
- Bar / stretched: 6.86″ 480×1280 IPS MIPI and other stretched formats on request
- Panel types: IPS on round and bar; TN on some special sizes
- Touch: custom only on catalog parts
- Part families: AFR (round IPS)
Where it fits
Typical applications: round panels go into wearables, instrument clusters, and appliance or HVAC dials; bar and stretched panels go into elevator and transit strips, industrial status bars, appliance fascias, and shelf-edge retail signage.
How it differs from the other TFT families: the panel outline is the point — a circular or stretched form the rectangular families do not cover. For a standard rectangular panel driven by your controller, see standard TFT panels; when direct-sun legibility is the requirement, see sunlight-readable TFT; for an onboard controller and a simple serial interface, see embedded TFT modules; when touch input is the driving requirement, see TFT with touch; and to prototype on an Arduino- or Raspberry Pi-ready board, see dev-board / maker TFT.
