Why Orient Display

Where our displays go in control and automation equipment

Industrial equipment runs for years in heat, vibration, and glare, on interfaces an operator has to read at a glance. We match the display to those constraints and support the engineering from part selection through production — not a catalog part dropped into a control cabinet.

Applications & engineering fit

Device classes and the engineering behind them

OD has engineered custom displays for industrial control and automation equipment across the device classes below, built for the durability, readability, and long service life those environments demand.

Device categories we've engineered displays for:

Industrial control & HMI panels — machine and equipment operator interfaces Process & dispensing equipment controllers — cleaning, dosing, and fluid-handling systems Data-center & power-infrastructure monitors

Engineering we typically bring to these programs:

Optical bonding for a rugged, sealed, sunlight-readable stack Wide-temperature operation for demanding industrial environments Projected-capacitive touch with custom cover-lens shapes and silk-screen printing Interface conversion with custom FPC and PCB integration EMI shielding for electrically noisy equipment
Certifications & quality

The quality system an industrial buyer qualifies against

What Orient Display holds today, stated plainly — and, marked in amber, the industrial safety, EMC, and ingress standards a piece of equipment may require that are not yet substantiated for these modules. Nothing amber should be read as a held certification.

ISO 9001 and QC 080000 — quality management, held today

Orient Display holds ISO 9001 and QC 080000, with RoHS and REACH material compliance and UL listing, applied across all industries. These govern document control, traceability, and change management across the build; industrial safety and EMC standards below are program-specific and not yet substantiated for these modules.

Quality and compliance certifications we hold today, applied across all industries:

ISO 9001 QC 080000 RoHS REACH UL listing

Industrial equipment standards a program may require — not substantiated for these modules today, and not to be read as met:

UL 61010-1 control-equipment safety IEC 61010-1 IEC 61326-1 EMC for measurement & control IEC 61000-4 immunity ATEX / IECEx hazardous-area IP65 / IP67 sealed ingress

Industrial-grade construction attributes a buyer may ask for — also unconfirmed for these modules: extended industrial temperature grade to a specified −40 °C to +85 °C range, conformal coating for condensing or corrosive environments, and qualified shock and vibration tolerance to a named test profile. Holding general quality certifications is not the same as meeting industrial safety or EMC standards; those remain to be proven per application.

Requirements we build to

What an industrial qualification asks of the display supplier

The constraints a control, automation, or IIoT program brings to a display, and where Orient Display's proven capability meets them — with anything not yet substantiated for industrial use marked in amber, never implied.

Shared capability · de-risking your supply chain

Non-China country-of-origin options, by tier

For programs with sourcing constraints, four escalating country-of-origin paths — a manufacturing capability offered across every industry, at capability level.

Tier 1

Non-China-origin shipping

Production in Thailand or Malaysia using Chinese components, shipping from a non-China origin.

Tier 2

COO-qualifying

A build configured so a Certificate of Origin can be issued for the finished module.

Tier 3

Zero-China-factor

Production through a Taiwan partner with no Chinese bill-of-materials content.

Tier 4

NCNT on request

A No-China, No-Taiwan sourcing path available on request for the most constrained programs.

Shared capability · lifecycle & documentation

Built for the length of your program

Hardware programs run long qualification cycles and long production lives. We plan the engagement around that.

Long design-in cycle

We support the extended qualification and design-in cycle a hardware program runs, from concept spec to production release.

Multi-year part retention

Once a module is designed in, we hold it in production across the product's life, so a qualified display does not force a mid-cycle redesign.

Long-lived supplier

An established manufacturer that will still be here across the product's service life, so a designed-in display keeps its source.

Specs & samples on demand

Full specifications, application notes, evaluation kits, and driver-IC documentation available to your engineers.

24-hour US sample shipping

Samples ship from the US within 24 hours, so evaluation starts without an overseas wait.

US engineering support

In-house US engineers guide part selection, touch integration, and initialization alongside the factory.

Common questions

Industrial buyer FAQ

Can you supply sunlight-readable or wide-temperature variants?

Yes. Sunlight-readable IPS panels, high-brightness backlighting, wide-temperature operation, ruggedization, waterproofing, and optical bonding are all standard custom capabilities for control, automation, and field equipment.

Which certifications do you hold?

Orient Display holds ISO 9001 and QC 080000 quality-management certifications, with RoHS and REACH material compliance and UL listing, applied across all industries. See our certifications page for the full list and documentation.

Are your displays rated to UL 61010-1, IEC 61326 EMC, or an ATEX hazardous-area standard?

Control-equipment safety to UL 61010-1 / IEC 61010-1, EMC and immunity to IEC 61326-1 and IEC 61000-4, and ATEX / IECEx hazardous-area construction are not substantiated for these modules today — we will not represent a display as certified to them until it is proven and documented. Tell us the standard your equipment must satisfy and we will scope what is achievable.

Can you meet a specific IP ingress rating or an industrial temperature grade?

A sealed IP65/IP67 front and an extended −40 °C to +85 °C industrial temperature grade depend on the assembly and are not pre-qualified on these modules — bring your target rating and we will tell you what we can build to today.

What are your lead times for samples and custom production?

Samples typically ship in 3–6 weeks and production runs in 4–8 weeks, depending on configuration; US samples ship within 24 hours where stocked.

Can you supply non-China country-of-origin for an industrial program?

Yes, as a capability — four escalating tiers from non-China-origin shipping through a No-China, No-Taiwan path on request. See the de-risking section above.
