Why Orient Display

Where our displays and touch go in the cockpit

We build the display and the capacitive touch to the cockpit's brightness, temperature, and legibility requirements, and support the engineering from part selection through production — not a catalog part dropped behind an instrument bezel. EV cockpits increasingly run multiple coordinated displays and move touch onto more cabin surfaces; each placement adds constraints we design to.

Certifications & quality

The certification an automotive supply chain qualifies against

What Orient Display holds today, stated plainly — and, marked in amber, the automotive-specific standards a program may require that are not yet substantiated for these modules. Nothing amber should be read as a held certification.

IATF 16949 — automotive quality management

Orient Display holds IATF 16949 across three automotive manufacturing plants — the automotive quality standard that superseded ISO/TS 16949 and that OEM and tier-1 supply chains commonly require. It governs document control, traceability discipline, and change management across the build.

General quality and compliance certifications we hold, applied across all industries:

ISO 9001 QC 080000 RoHS REACH UL listing

Automotive-specific standards and process approvals a program may require — not substantiated for these modules today, and not to be read as met:

AEC-Q100 component qualification AEC-Q200 passive-component qualification ISO 26262 functional safety (ASIL) PPAP production part approval APQP advanced product quality planning

Holding IATF 16949 is not the same as meeting a specific component-qualification or functional-safety standard; those remain to be proven per program. Send us your qualification requirements and we will tell you what we can support today.

Requirements we build to

What an automotive qualification asks of the display supplier

The constraints a vehicle program brings to a display and its touch, and where Orient Display's proven capability meets them — with anything not yet substantiated for automotive use marked in amber, never implied.

Shared capability · de-risking your supply chain

Non-China country-of-origin options, by tier

For programs with sourcing constraints, four escalating country-of-origin paths — a manufacturing capability offered across every industry, at capability level.

Tier 1

Non-China-origin shipping

Production in Thailand or Malaysia using Chinese components, shipping from a non-China origin.

Tier 2

COO-qualifying

A build configured so a Certificate of Origin can be issued for the finished module.

Tier 3

Zero-China-factor

Production through a Taiwan partner with no Chinese bill-of-materials content.

Tier 4

NCNT on request

A No-China, No-Taiwan sourcing path available on request for the most constrained programs.

Shared capability · lifecycle & documentation

Built for the length of a vehicle platform

Automotive programs run long qualification cycles and long production lives. We plan the engagement around that.

Long design-in cycle

We support the extended qualification and design-in cycle an automotive program runs, from concept spec to production release.

Multi-year part retention

Once a module is designed in, we hold it in production across the platform's life, so a qualified display does not force a mid-cycle redesign.

Long-lived supplier

An established manufacturer that will still be here across the vehicle's service life, so a designed-in display keeps its source.

Specs & samples on demand

Full specifications, application notes, evaluation kits, and driver-IC documentation available to your engineers.

24-hour US sample shipping

Samples ship from the US within 24 hours, so evaluation starts without an overseas wait.

US engineering support

In-house US engineers guide part selection, touch integration, and initialization alongside the factory.

Common questions

Automotive buyer FAQ

Do you hold IATF 16949?

Yes. Orient Display holds IATF 16949 across three automotive manufacturing plants — the standard that superseded ISO/TS 16949 — alongside ISO 9001 and QC 080000 as general quality certifications. Send your qualification requirements and we will respond with the documentation package.

Can you supply capacitive touch for a cockpit HMI?

Yes. Custom capacitive (PCAP) touch integrated with the display is a core capability; Orient Display holds roughly 20% global share of automotive capacitive touch panels. Resistive touch, optical bonding, and cover-glass shaping are available for center-stack and cluster HMIs.

Are your displays sunlight-readable and wide-temperature?

Yes. Sunlight-readable IPS panels, high-brightness backlighting, wide-temperature operation, optical bonding, and anti-glare treatments are all standard custom capabilities for exposed and direct-sun cockpit placement.

Can you support ISO 26262 functional safety or AEC-Q component qualification?

Orient Display holds IATF 16949. ISO 26262 functional-safety (ASIL) design support and AEC-Q100/Q200 component qualification are not substantiated for these modules today — we will not represent them as met until they are. Tell us the specific standard your program must satisfy and we will tell you what we can support.

Do you provide PPAP and APQP documentation?

PPAP production part approval and APQP advanced product quality planning packages are not yet confirmed for these modules — raise your documentation requirements with us and we will tell you what we can support today under our IATF 16949 system.

Can you supply non-China country-of-origin for an automotive program?

Yes, as a capability — four escalating tiers from non-China-origin shipping through a No-China, No-Taiwan path on request. See the de-risking section above.
